2024 Concerts in the Park

The Steinbach Arts Council is pleased to announce that your favourite FREE outdoor concert series is back this summer. KR Barkman Concerts in the Park are for the whole family, featuring local performers across a variety of genres – classical, pop, folk, acapella, rock, and more!

Everyone is encouraged to bring your lawn chairs or a blanket to the KR Barkman Park on Thursday, May 30th at 6:30pm for the first outdoor concert of 2024, and plan to enjoy the music on Tuesdays and Thursdays through to June 13th. To find KR Barkman Park, head southeast down Main Street, just past the Steinbach Fire Hall, and look for the gazebo.

The Steinbach Arts Council is delighted to partner with the Barkman Concrete Foundation to continue this summer tradition of featuring local and guest artists and bringing our community together in celebration of music and arts.

The Southeast Brass Quintet originated from the Southeast Community Band established in 2022, rekindling the musical passion of musicians across generations. Over the past two years, the Quintet has expanded from the main group, striving to bring joy to audiences through their music while finding fulfillment in their performances.

Mother Burden, a trio formed from a local choir, finds inspiration in everyday life and cherished roles. Despite juggling motherhood, pets, and a love for music, they passionately arrange covers of folk and pop tunes spanning 50 years. Their dedication to music and family shines through in their harmonious collaboration.
Above Bass

Above Bass

Above Bass is a female quartet from Steinbach, blending pop music with barbershop style. Comprised of Jerica Capistrano, Karli Davidson, Kristy Penner, and Jessica Nickel, they delight audiences with songs from The Andrews Sisters, The Beatles, The Drifters, Sara Bareilles, and Leonard Cohen, offering a diverse and entertaining musical experience.
Darryl Marsch Band

Darryl Marsch Band

June 4th, 6:30pm
Darryl Marsch leads the band with vocals and guitars, supported by Glen Hartley on bass and backing vocals, and Randy Weimer on drums and backing vocals. With experiences performing in Manitoba, Saskatchewan, and Ontario, they entertain audiences through Classic Rock, Country-Rock, Old Time Rock 'n Roll, and Top Forty hits, promising a show with amazing sound and lighting equipment.

Crossfire, formed in 2018 in Southeastern Manitoba, features Rusty on lead and backup vocals, Darren as a lead and backup vocalist, Russ on bass guitar, Tony on drums, James on lead guitar, and Steve on acoustic and electric guitar. Known for their "Inspired Rock and Blues" genre, the band members bring a wealth of experience from various music projects to deliver energetic performances at private functions, community fairs, and fundraising events.
Louden King

Louden King

June 11th, 6:30pm
Louden King, a multi-instrumentalist, released his debut album "Supermassivity" at the ages of 14 to 16, showcasing his guitar skills and drumming. The album features a range of music from classic rock to rock instrumentals, highlighting his songwriting abilities and memorable guitar hooks, with all music, instrument performances, and recording done by Louden himself but brought to life with the assistance of his friends.
Beneath the Surface

Beneath the Surface

Beneath the Surface is a punk/alternative rock band from Southeast Manitoba. They released their debut album on January 1st of 2024 which amassed a near 1000 monthly listeners on Spotify at its peak. The band has been gigging and writing strongly ever since and has begun solidifying themselves as live music powerhouse with fun, fast paced high energy performances that captivate their audience.

LMNK

LMNK is Lorne Matthew Neil Kauenhofen. He is a Christian Contemporary artist from Steinbach Manitoba, Canada with a passion to share God's Love through his music. Inspired early on by bands like Jake, Plus One, and The Newsboys, LMNK has always had a love for singing. His greatest accomplishment to date is having his song 'Run Away' played on local radio station Mix 96.7fm.
Kites and Lights

Kites and Lights

Kites and Lights is a sister-brother duo from hailing from Kleefeld, MB. They love to perform pop, folk and Christian covers (with even a little country thrown in from time to time)! Formally formed in 2023, they have a long history of making music together in their childhood home, in church and on family road trips.
