SHORT SYNOPSIS

Salem, Massachusetts, 1692. When a group of girls are discovered breaking the strict rules of their Puritan community, accusations of witchcraft begin to spread. Fear quickly takes hold, and a court established to uncover the truth instead gives suspicion, old grievances and private desires the force of law.

Caught in the growing hysteria are John and Elizabeth Proctor, a farming couple struggling to repair their marriage after John’s affair with Abigail Williams. When Abigail accuses Elizabeth of witchcraft, John sets out to expose the deception and save his wife, even if doing so means revealing his own failures.

But as the accusations multiply and the court refuses to question its own righteousness, John is forced to confront more than the sins that began the trials. With his life, his name and the lives of others hanging in the balance, he must decide what it means to be a good man when every choice carries a cost.
