Current Opportunities

The Steinbach Arts Council seeks to hire highly motivated, career-minded individual to fill the position of Community Programs Assistant with a focus on Arts Programming. The successful candidate will work alongside and answer to the Manager of Community Programs, planning and carrying out a busy calendar of activities. This individual will play a crucial role in the administration of over 140 programs, classes and workshops, while assisting with everyday programming tasks and office administration.

Start Date: September 3, 2024 (or sooner)

Duties:
• Plan and implement arts education, community and wellness, and visual arts programming
• Manage numerous arts instructors and volunteers, and oversee various programming and project committees, and evaluation of all parties.
• Work with Artists, exhibits and exhibit opening ceremonies
• Assist to plan future initiatives and goals in order to succeed in a rapidly growing environment of instruction delivery, class formats and health regulations
• Provide setup and organization of classrooms and studios for daily activities. (Physically able to lift “light” to “moderate” items with limited assistance)
• Review and maintain budgets, and policy and task manuals
• Assist in coordinating and implementing Communication and Marketing strategies
• Utilize and maintain the Steinbach Arts Council database, and reconciling program accounts
• Customer service, registration and general office duties as required
• Oversee facility scheduling, and other administrative tasks as assigned
• Assist with financial transactions, payables, invoicing, and receipting
• Assist with Centre events when needed

Successful applicant will demonstrate:
• Superior interpersonal skills and office professionalism
• Independence and the ability to anticipate department-related needs
• Resourcefulness and the ability to take initiative
• Administrative and organizational skills including in-depth knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word/Excel)
• Experience with detailed budgets and financial transactions
• High energy and enthusiasm, multi-tasking and problem-solving skills, and an ability to execute tasks quickly and accurately
• Strong communication and language skills (oral and written), and excellent attention to detail
• Interest in arts education and community programming
• Flexibility and collaborative nature while working on a team
• Ability to manage staff – Human Resource experience an asset

35 hours per week. Office closure dates TBD. 1 evening per week, and one Saturday per month. The Steinbach Arts Council offers a benefits package. Only those candidates selected for interviews will be contacted.
