Steinbach Arts Council to host Fundraising Gala, raising funds for community arts and culture programming.
The Steinbach Arts Council Fundraising Gala will take place on Friday, May 3, 2024, celebrating nearly 45 years of arts and culture programming in the community.
Attendees will enjoy local food, fine wine, entertainment, and a curated silent auction including arts experiences, local artwork, and a jewellery raffle.
“We are excited about the possibilities that exist for our community”, says David Klassen, Executive Director of the Steinbach Arts Council.
“We have an opportunity to grow our programming in order to meet the growing demand for arts and culture recreation, and we’re committed to making that happen.”
The Steinbach Arts Council is a hub for arts and culture in the southeast. Described as a space where everyone belongs, where learning happens, and self-expression is encouraged, SAC lives its mission to “Create community through arts and culture.”
Klassen explains, “One of our greatest responsibilities is to make sure that high quality arts and culture programming remains accessible for those who live in our region. We’ve experienced significant programming growth in the last two years, and with that increase in demand comes increased need. For many, cost can be an obstacle, and we want to eliminate that barrier. This event is crucial to our ability to achieve that goal.”
Highlights of the Steinbach Arts Council’s past year include the continued free youth programming, strengthened bursary programming, and the large increase in the number of classes and workshops offered, including multi-generational and multicultural workshops.
This year’s event will take place at a new location, with a goal to raise $50,000 to help SAC programs thrive and remain accessible to people in the southeast region.
