The Steinbach Arts Council is committed to sharing the story of its work, the progress made over the past year, and the impact arts and culture continue to have across our community and region. As SAC prepares for its Annual General Meeting, we look forward to celebrating the people, partnerships and community support that continue to move this work forward.

“The growth of the Steinbach Arts Council directly reflects what can happen when a community believes in the value of arts and culture, and chooses to invest in it”, says David Klassen, Executive Director. “Every new program, partnership and opportunity is made possible by the people who participate, volunteer, teach, give and work alongside us.  SAC is thriving, and we’re building an organization that continues to grow in both its impact and relevance across our region.”

Highlights form the 2025-2026 Season

  • Record participation and demand: Approximately 2,300 program registrations this year—nearly triple pre-pandemic levels—reflecting strong and sustained community demand.
  • National recognition: The organization is now positioned among the top 10% of service-providing arts councils in Canada, based on available comparative data.
  • Community consultation: A regional survey engaged nearly 500 respondents across Southeast Manitoba, reinforcing strong demand and identifying key barriers such as time, cost, and awareness.
  • Regional growth focus: Feedback confirmed that demand extends beyond Steinbach, positioning SAC as a regional cultural asset serving the broader Southeast Manitoba area.
  • Strategic program expansion: Continued development of arts-based outreach.
